Labor Enthusiastically

~By Debbie and Sharon

…a short and simple reminder for this weekend that gives us a break from our jobs and careers.

Maybe this long weekend gives you a chance to catch your breath and catch up on those household responsibilities that need to be done….or maybe an opportunity to just breathe and do nothing. Maybe it is the first opportunity to enjoy some family time in several months…or, the perfect time for that long awaited vacation.

As you set aside the stresses of the 9-5 (or other workshift), to enjoy this special day that rewards YOU for your labors, we want to encourage you of a couple of things to keep in mind. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, (‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬‬:‭23‬ NKJV)

First of all, be thankful. Take time to thank God for your ability and the opportunity to perform your responsibilities.

Pray for grace to endure the stresses and difficulties that may come with your particular job.

And finally, consider the words of the verse above. Remember, to fulfill your job related responsibilities joyfully and enthusiastically…as you are doing this to honor God, not for the praise of others.

We encourage you to enjoy this weekend… and pray you return to work with a rejuvenated spirit, making it your goal to honor God and not simply to please others.

Happy Labor Day!
